Their music is a combination of original songs and other charms gathered along the way. Their strength is that they appeal to all age groups - as their concerts have proved and they continue to attract audiences of all ages back to the song and the story. Kindred spirits through love of song and story. Joan, Brighid and Ronnie weave together original work with time tested classics. Since Oct 1998 the finest of local musicians have risen our 200 year old roof every wednesday night, every season of the year. The depth of tradition and rich vein of talent, which we are lucky to be steeped in, has thrown up some magic anchors to our session. From the seed days of Pat Coyne, Ollie Lynch, Aindreas de Staic, Fegus Farrell and a fresh faced Fabian Joyce to Don Stiffe, Johnny Berrill and Eoin Wynne, the session has matured and now nestles in the finesse and flair of Ita Cunningham and Fabian Joyce (the older version!) and their regular infusion of special guests. |

When the world didnt end in the year 2000 we decided to celebrate by having a session. That night has a lot to answer for and the custodian of guitar energy in the lakes hinterland, Gert Nungesser has since nurtured a session which has become a musicians paradise. From the first time Mouse Mc Hugh sang "Need your Love so bad" to sneak previews of Noelie Mc Donnells new material, we have been blessed with very powerful, enigmatic and talented anchormen. The current stompin' geeetar pickin' feel of the session has been enhanced by the ever present bluegrass vibes of Pete Smyth (jug), Eamon Quinn(vocals & Guitar) and Glenn Hardiman(5 string banjo & Guitar). |

In 1976 and with the arrival of punk, JCC was initially the support act for many seminal punk bands such as the Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, The Fall, Joy Division, Elvis Costello and Siouxsie and the Banshees, to name but a few; His biting, satirical, political and very funny verse delivered in a rapid-fire performance style. Before long, John was headlining his own gigs and drawing huge crowds of fans. John had an striking visual appearance; tall and thin with a mess of black hair, black sunglasses, drainpipe trousers and cuban-heeled boots. He was dubbed "The Bard of Salford" and given the moniker "punk poet". During those heady days, John recorded four studio albums, and released two live LPs. As a result of the current popularity of the 70's punk phenomenon, John has been seen and heard more in the media over the last few years than in the last few decades. Sky TV recently dedicated an entire night's programming to John, the Culture Show on BBC interviewed him for a special feature, and he made a brief cameo as his younger self in the Ian Curtis biopic, "Control". |
